We are an artistic duo which practices experimental approaches towards graphics, ceramics and new pictorial visions.
We joined our previous formations to deform attitudes towards various disciplines. In our work we aim to promote a creation as knowledge exchange and experience culture through sharing strategies.
Born in Taormina (1976) Fabrizio Contarino is Barcelona based visual artist. His work is mainly centred on
drawing, also expanding to other practices such as photography, graphic design and video installation. The use
of different materials and techniques – namely paper, pen, ink, silk-screen printing and digital tools – is at the
core of his creative production. The artist’s imagination is fed by a wide range of sources from both high and
popular culture and his work, often laden with irony and a form of social commentary, focuses on topics related
to the transmission or manipulation of information and on memory.
He received M.A. degree in Artistic Production and Research in Barcelona and participated in numerous
international exhibitions in Spain, Italy, Greece, Colombia and Korea, he was a contributor to Rojo magazine
from 2002 to 2011, and his work has been published in a number of magazines throughout Europe. His recent
project were highlighted in Museo del Disseny and Arts Santa Mònica in Barcelona. Currently he combines his
art practice with the art direction of Espai Souvenir, an independent art space in Barcelona.
Born in Vilnius (1983), Alina Melnikova lives and works in Vilnius and Barcelona. She has exhibited her works
widely in Europe since receiving M.A. degree from Vilnius Academy of Arts in 2008. Through different mediums
such as drawing, installation, performance and -especially- oil painting, Alina explores visual aspects of
seduction through notions of sensuality, sexuality and erotism.
In 2009, she won the Award for Young Painters in Lithuania; in 2013, she was invited to the international
artist residency “La Cité Internationale des Arts” in Paris. In the same year, she was granted Artistic status by the
Lithuanian Cultural Ministry. Her work has been exhibited in art institutions of international importance like the
KUMU Contemporary Art Center in Tallinn (Estonia) and the CAC of Vilnius (Lithuania). Alina’s work resides in
significant contemporary art collections such as Dietrich Mateschitz (Red Bull Collection), Lewben Art Foundation
and MO museum in Vilnius.
